Who We Are
The Movement for Progressive Judaism (MPJ) brings together timeless Jewish tradition with the creativity, diversity, and values of 21st-century Jewish life.
With 77 communities across the UK and Ireland, MPJ represents around 30% of synagogue-affiliated Jews and is committed to reaching the many non-affiliated Jews who share our values.
Created on 1 January 2026 through the unification of The Movement for Reform Judaism and Liberal Judaism, you will be joining us at a pivotal and transformative time. This is your opportunity to help shape a vibrant, inclusive future for Jewish life in the UK.
You will help us reach and support more people in more places, bringing them a Judaism that is inclusive and egalitarian and which welcomes individuals, couples and families of all backgrounds and identities, meeting people where they are and supporting them in the Jewish journeys they choose.
More than that, you will be able to shape the work of our new Movement and help build a vibrant, inclusive future for Jewish life in the UK – one that nurtures our young people, strengthens communities, and ensures that Jewish values of equality, justice and learning continue to flourish.

Our Finchley headquarters is a secure, welcoming site that also hosts a number of other organisations including a nursery, primary school, college, Art Stables, synagogue, book shop and café.
