Bristol and West Progressive Jewish Congregation (BWPJC) enjoyed a fantastic weekend away together in the heart of the Forest of Dean, providing a beautiful and safe environment for everyone to relax, connect and have fun.
More than 70 people attended and took part in a packed programme of activities, including crafts, Israeli dancing, a talk on Jewish Jazz, a drumming workshop, a climbing wall, zip-lining, yoga and a party round the campfire which went on very late!
Jennifer Clements, Chair of BWPJC, said: “We are not always able to run events like this because of limited resources by Council was determined to give our community the opportunity this year. I was quite emotional watching people step up and work hard to make it happen. Seeing everyone enjoying themselves and spending time together has made all the effort worthwhile”
Adam Kessler, who attended with his young family, added: “My family had a great time in the Forest of Dean – my toddler splashed around in the pond with the other children, my baby tried to eat the grass, and my wife and myself (mostly) relaxed. It really showed what a caring, welcoming community BWPJC is, and made us feel lucky to be a part of it.”
