One of the four key missions of the Movement for Progressive Judaism (MPJ) is to strengthen, support and connect communities.

As Co-Lead with responsibility for community engagement, Rabbi Josh Levy spends much of his time visiting congregations across the UK and Ireland, building relationships, supporting local leadership, and ensuring that communities remain at the heart of our Movement.

In the last month, Rabbi Josh has delivered sermons at Harlow & Chelmsford Jewish Community and North West Surrey Synagogue, as well as speaking at the Stevenage Liberal Synagogue AGM and Milton Keynes & District Reform Synagogue Council meeting.

During all four visits, he was delighted to talk about the opportunities Progressive Judaism provides for people and how it only truly flourishes when the Movement and our communities work in true partnership.

Hilary, Secretary and Treasurer of Stevenage Liberal Synagogue, said: “To have Rabbi Josh Levy at our AGM gave the event extra importance. He was extremely interesting and informative and we all thoroughly enjoyed meeting him.”

Alongside Rabbi Josh’s community visits, MPJ Co-Lead Rabbi Charley Baginsky and members of the wider professional team also regularly visit congregations, events and community gatherings across the UK and Ireland.

If you would like one of our MPJ team to attend a service, event or meeting your community is holding, or you want them to come and talk to your members about The Movement for Progressive Judaism, please contact Diana on execassistant@progressivejudaism.org.uk.
