A celebratory service, led by Rabbi Nathan Godleman and the KLS choir, brought together members, friends and prominent civic leaders to welcome a vibrant new chapter for the congregation.
To commemorate the installation, Mayor of Kingston Thay Thayalam and the Deputy Mayor of Elmbridge Simon Leifer jointly unveiled the synagogue’s newly updated exterior sign, which reflects its new rabbi, as well as its affiliation to The Movement for Progressive Judaism.
KLS Chair Steve Farrer said: “This civic service underscores our synagogue’s enduring role as a cornerstone of local interfaith relations, cultural heritage, and community cohesion.”
Rabbi Lev added: “I am delighted to join Kingston Liberal Synagogue, which is such a warm, inclusive and intergenerational community.”
