With support from Brent Multi Faith Forum, Makor Hayim celebrated Tu BiShvat on Sunday with local MP Dawn Butler, Brent Mayor Ryan Hack, faith leaders from local groups, Brent Friends of the Earth and many more from the local community.
The community shared reflections on our many common values and goals, planted a fig tree, enjoyed a wholesome vegan meal, sang, shared stories and plenty of nature-based activities.
Student Rabbi Stacy Hackner said, “What a wonderful experience to celebrate the new year for trees with other communities who also have strong tree connections. It was so fascinating to hear so many stories about trees and plant one together. I hope the fig tree at the Nature Centre grows and thrives over the coming years, as do our communities!”
