Kol Chai: Hatch End Reform Jewish Community was one of many Progressive communities taking part in Jami Mental Health Shabbat, the annual weekend that encourages open, stigma free conversations about mental illness and distress.
Kol Chai invited clinical psychologist Dr Stuart Linke – an honorary consultant to Jami’s suicide prevention project and adviser to the Wellspring Project – to share his insights on the progress the Jewish community has made on mental health and reflect on the impact that the 7 October terrorist attacks have had.
Rabbi Naomi Goldman (pictured with Stuart) said: “This Shabbat is so important for us because mental and spiritual wellbeing lies at the heart of everything we do as a Jewish community. It was great to have some time to reflect on this and to consider how we can all manage our mental health in this stressful world.”
