King Charles III met the two victims of last month’s Golders Green stabbing attack – as well as senior religious and civic leaders from across the Jewish community – during a solidarity visit.

Hosted by Jewish Care at the charity’s Maurice and Vivienne Wohl Campus and with a large crowd gathered outside, His Majesty was welcomed to the area by Mayor of Barnet Rabbi Danny Rich.

Rabbi Danny, who serves Southgate Progressive Synagogue, said: “The King’s visit provided significant additional reassurance that an attack on the Jewish community is an affront to all decent individuals and their representatives. Coupled with His Majesty’s decision to become a Patron of CST, it affirms that joint public and Jewish vigilance will secure, to the best of our ability, the safety of Jews in the United Kingdom.”

The Movement for Progressive Judaism Co-Leads, Rabbi Charley Baginsky and Rabbi Josh Levy, also spent time with King Charles during His Majesty’s visit to Golders Green.

They said: “There was something deeply moving about seeing so many parts of our community gathered together to welcome The King into a place that represents British Jewish life at its best.”
