We are delighted that Jonathan Hall KC, the Independent Reviewer of Terrorism Legislation, will be joining our online Open House this Thursday (14 May) at 8pm.
Open House is our informal monthly virtual get-together hosted by Movement for Progressive Judaism Co-Leads Rabbi Charley Baginsky and Rabbi Josh Levy.
It is open to everyone, with all members of Progressive congregations invited to join us, along with friends and allies from outside of our community.
Jonathan was appointed Independent Reviewer of Terrorism Legislation in May 2019. He authors annual terrorism reports from a position of complete independence, with access to secret and sensitive national security information and personnel in order to carry out the role.
In addition, in February 2024 he was appointed as the first Independent Reviewer of State Threats Legislation under the National Security Act 2023, which requires him to review the new offences and powers created by the 2023 Act.
He has said that recent attacks on Jews are “the biggest national security emergency” Britain has faced in almost a decade.
