Georgia Hudnott, a member of Edgware and Hendon Reform Synagogue, has won a Together Award for her work championing equity, diversity and inclusion in the UK rail industry.
She co-founded the Jewish Rail Network in order to support Jewish colleagues and allies across train operating companies, Network Rail, supply chain firms and rolling stock companies.
Less than a year after its launch, the network already has over 70 members, offering social events, discussion forums, advocacy and professional networking opportunities.
The Together Award recognises individuals who go above and beyond to champion inclusion and, in Georgia’s case, highlighted her commitment to making the railway a “kinder, more connected place” and her passion for “equity and wellbeing to ensure everyone feels valued and heard”.
Georgia said: “The real achievement is that our network gives Jewish people in the railway a forum to be their true selves. That is worth so much more than any award.”
The Jewish Rail Network is also in the running for an external EDI award at Spotlight Rail next month. Georgia has recently hosted an event at the House of Lords and will also attend the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in recognition of her work in this area.
